Loretta Jean Burton

Loretta Jean Burton, age 93, lifelong resident of Cadillac, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023 at the Sunnyside Assisted Living.

Loretta was born in West Branch, Michigan on October 7, 1930 to Nicholas and Rachel (Kennedy) Green.

She was raised in the Mesick area and was employed at Mitchell-Bentley as an automotive interior upholsterer. Loretta could always be found crafting. She enjoyed arts and crafts, quilting, drawing and painting. She loved to play Bingo.

Loretta is survived by her children: Diane Reeves of San Diego, CA, Ellis (Eva) Hilts and Dustie Hilts both of Cadillac, John (Marilyn) Hoseit of Lawrenceville, GA, Debbie (Robert) Hawkes of Loganville, GA and Michael Brown of Cadillac, numerous grandchildren and great and great-great grandchildren.

She is also survived by a niece and nephews, Peggy (Larry) Johnson of Mesick and Lance (Della) Green of Central Lake and Kirk (Yvonne) Green of South Dakota.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Josephine Corlew, Alex Green, Adeline Stickney, Nicholas Green, Eugene Green and David Green.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later time with burial in the Sherman Mesick Cemetery in Mesick in the spring.
